MSAA's 50th Anniversary Virtual Night at the Barnes Foundation

The Multiple Sclerosis Association of America (MSAA) was founded in the Philadelphia area 50 years ago. Since our inception, our organization has been the leading resource for the entire MS community by improving lives through vital services and support. MSAA provides free programs and services to individuals with multiple sclerosis and their families. Programs include a Helpline with trained specialists; award-winning educational videos and publications, including MSAA's magazine, The Motivator; safety and mobility equipment distribution; cooling accessories for heat-sensitive individuals; educational programs held across the country; MRI funding; and Lending Library among other services.

We will be hosting a Virtual Night at the Barnes Foundation in recognition of our 50 years of serving the MS community. The Barnes Foundation, located in Philadelphia, PA and founded by Dr. Albert C. Barnes, is an art collection and educational institution promoting the appreciation of art of horticulture. We will be hosting a livestream program that will include a private, docent-led tour of the Barnes Foundation collection.

Our 2020 Mission Honoree, Maria Sammartino is a gifted South Jersey artist who has participated in MSAA’s Art Showcase for many years. Her inspirational, abstract artistic style has been featured in a variety of juried shows, exhibitions, and the International Journal of MS Care, as well as at many libraries, medical facilities, and more. Maria was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis in 2009, and found herself immersed in painting on a daily basis as an outlet while coping with the condition. Learn more about Maria by clicking here
