MSAA invites you to a panel discussion taking a deep look into how leaning on spirituality can help you manage your MS and overall health at our live, free webinar, “MS, Spirituality, and Health,” on Tuesday, July 12, 2022 from 7:30 PM – 9:00 PM Eastern.

This second digital educational program in our New Directions 2022 "Living with MS as a Black Person" series will be presented by MS community member Tyler, Pastor Claval Hunter, and neurologists Annette Okai, MD and Mitzi Joi Williams, MD.

While attending San Diego State University, Tyler was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis during his junior year and became the first individual to play division one college football with the disease. He is now an entrepreneur and travels the country as a professional speaker delivering empowering and inspiring messages of self-worth. Tyler also serves as a member of MSAA's African American Advisory Board.

Pastor Claval Hunter is currently serving as the Lead Pastor of the Berean Seventh-day Adventist Church in South Bend, IN and the Voice of Hope Seventh-day Adventist Church in Michigan City. He holds the distinct honor of being inducted into the distinguished Morehouse College Martin Luther King Jr. International Board of Preachers in Atlanta, GA for his recognized community and social justice contributions.

Annette Okai, MD
Mizti Joi Williams, MD

Dr. Annette Okai is the Director of Clinical Neuroimmunology and Multiple Sclerosis Research at North Texas Institute of Neurology and Headache in Plano, TX and is also the Clinical Assistant Professor of Neurology at Texas Tech University Health Science Center. She also serves as a member of MSAA's Healthcare Advisory Council and African American Advisory Board.

Dr. Mitzi Joi Williams is a neurologist and MS specialist in Atlanta, GA and has spearheaded and participated in multiple steering committees and work groups to further research in underserved populations with MS with a focus on the African-American population. She also serves as the Co-Chairperson of MSAA's African American Advisory Board.
